เมื่อวันที่ 21 กุมภาพันธ์ 2567 นางสาวพินทุ์สุดา ชัยนาม อธิบดีกรมองค์การระหว่างประเทศได้พบหารือกับนาย Guy Rider รองเลขาธิการสหประชาชาติด้านนโยบาย (Under - Secretary  - General for Policy) ในโอกาสที่รองเลขาธิการฯ เยือนไทย ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือแลกเปลี่ยนเกี่ยวกับการเตรียมการจัดการประชุม Summit of The Future  ในเดือนกันยายน 2567 ณ นครนิวยอร์ก สหรัฐอเมริกา 

ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้ย้ำว่าการประชุมดังกล่าวสำคัญยิ่งในการช่วยขับเคลื่อนการบรรลุเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน (Sustainable Development Goals -SDGs) ภายในปี ค.ศ. 2030 และส่งเสริมความร่วมมือพหุภาคี เพื่อให้สหประชาชาติสามารถรับมือกับประเด็นท้าทายและภัยคุกคามของโลกในปัจจุบันและอนาคต และตระหนักถึงความจำเป็นในการเสริมสร้างความตระหนักรู้ให้กับประชาชนทั่วไปเกี่ยวกับการประชุมฯ และการมีส่วนร่วมของหน่วยงาน และผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสียต่างๆ เพื่อให้ผลลัพธ์ของกระบวนการเจรจาระหว่างรัฐที่นำไปสู่การประชุมดังกล่าวมีความทะเยอทะยาน และสามารถนำไปสู่การปฏิบัติได้อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม และเกิดประโยชน์กับอนุชนคนรุ่นหลังอย่างแท้จริง

On 21 February 2024, Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama , Director - General of the Department of International Organizations met with Mr. Guy Ryder, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Policy during his visit to Thailand, to discuss the preparation for the Summit of the Future, which is to scheduled to take place in September 2024, in New York, USA.

The Director - General and the Under Secretary reiterated the importance of the Summit of The Future in accelerating sustainable development goals (SDGs) implementation by 2030 and promoting multilateral cooperation to enhance the UN's capacity to address present and future global challenges. Both sides also recognized the need to raise awareness about the Summit among the general public and encourage participation by the relevant government agencies and various stakeholders to ensure that the inter-governmental negotiating process of the Summit yields ambitious yet practical outcomes for the future generations.
