เมื่อวันที่ ๓ กันยายน ๒๕๖๙ นายสีหศักดิ์ พวงเกตุแก้ว รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ พบหารือกับนางสาวพรประไพ กาญจนรินทร์ ประธานกรรมการสิทธิมนุษยชนแห่งชาติ (กสม.) และคณะ เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับประเด็นสิทธิมนุษยชนในด้านต่าง ๆ อาทิ ผู้โยกย้ายถิ่นฐาน ผู้หนีภัยการสู้รบจากเมียนมา และปัญหาสิทธิมนุษยชนข้ามพรมแดน เช่น การหลอกลวงทางอินเทอร์เน็ต และมลพิษทางน้ำ รวมถึงสิทธิมนุษยชนของผู้สูงอายุ ตลอดจนสถานการณ์จังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้และสถานการณ์ชายแดนในภาคตะวันออก และการเข้าถึงกระบวนการยุติธรรม และการส่งเสริมสิทธิมนุษยชนในกรอบอาเซียน โดยเฉพาะในโอกาสที่ไทยจะดำรงตำแหน่งประธานอาเซียนในปี ๒๕๗๑

นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายยังได้แลกเปลี่ยนความเห็นเกี่ยวกับการสมัครเป็นสมาชิกองค์การเพื่อความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจและการพัฒนา (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development: OECD) ของไทย ในเรื่องการดำเนินธุรกิจอย่างมีความรับผิดชอบ และการแก้ไขปัญหาทุจริตคอร์รัปชัน

ในโอกาสนี้ รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศย้ำความสำคัญของการกระชับปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างกระทรวงการต่างประเทศและ กสม. เพื่อสนับสนุนการดำเนินงานด้านสิทธิมนุษยชนภายในประเทศและในเวทีระหว่างประเทศ

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets with Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission of Thailand
On 3 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs met with Ms. Pornprapai Ganjanarintr, Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission of Thailand (NHRCT) and members of the Commission.

Both sides exchanged views on human rights issues in such areas as migrants, Myanmar displaced persons and transboundary human rights issues including online scams and water pollution as well as human rights of older persons, the situation in the Southern Border Provinces (SBPs) and eastern border provinces , and access to justice as well as human rights within the ASEAN framework - particularly in light of Thailand’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2028.

The two sides also exchanged views on Thailand’s application for membership of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), particularly on enhancing Thailand’s efforts in promoting responsible business conduct and addressing corruption.

On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs underscored the importance of enhancing engagement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the NHRCT to support Thailand’s efforts on the promotion and protection of human rights at the domestic level and international fora.
