เมื่อวันที่ ๗ ตุลาคม ๒๕๖๘ นายพืชภพ มงคลนาวิน รองอธิบดีกรมองค์การระหว่างประเทศ กล่าวเปิดการประชุม Regional Meeting of the UNODC Youth-led Action to Prevent Violent Extremism in the Digital Space in South-East Asia ที่โรงแรมเซ็นทารา แกรนด์ แอท เซ็นทรัลเวิลด์ ซึ่งร่วมจัดโดยสำนักงานว่าด้วยยาเสพติดและอาชญากรรมแห่งสหประชาชาติ และได้รับการสนับสนุนจากสหภาพยุโรป

รองอธิบดีกรมองค์การระหว่างประเทศ กล่าวว่า ภัยคุกคามจากเทคโนโลยีในปัจจุบันที่เพิ่มขึ้น อาจถูกนำไปใช้ในการก่ออาชญากรรม และเผยแพร่แนวคิดสุดโต่งที่นิยมความรุนแรง โดยเฉพาะกับเยาวชน ซึ่งเป็นกลุ่มที่ใช้เทคโนโลยีดิจิทัลเป็นประจำ โดยไทยสนับสนุนการผลักดันข้อริเริ่มและข้อเสนอแนะจากเยาวชนเพื่อต่อต้านแนวคิดสุดโต่งและความรุนแรงทางช่องทางออนไลน์

อนึ่ง การประชุมฯ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเป็นพื้นที่สำหรับการแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับประสบการณ์ แนวปฏิบัติที่ดี ความท้าทาย และประเด็นจำเป็นเร่งด่วนในการต่อต้านความรุนแรงแบบสุดโต่งในภูมิภาค โดยมีผู้แทนเยาวชนและผู้แทนภาคประชาสังคมในภูมิภาคเข้าร่วมประมาณ ๗๐ คน และสนับสนุนงานของเครือข่าย Southeast Asia Network on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (SEAN-PVE) ในภูมิภาคซึ่งประกอบด้วยหน่วยงานภาครัฐและภาคประชาสังคมที่รวมตัวกันเพื่อเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือ และการแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลในประเด็นดังกล่าว โดยผู้จัดคาดหวังที่จะจัดทำเอกสารสรุปผลลัพธ์ที่รวมข้อเสนอและข้อริเริ่มโดยเยาวชนเพื่อต่อต้านแนวคิดความรุนแรงแบบสุดโต่งเพื่อนำไปปรับใช้ในอนาคต

On 7 October 2025, Mr. Phuchphop Mongkolnavin, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, delivered an opening remarks at the UNODC Regional Meeting on Youth-led Action to Prevent Violent Extremism in the Digital Space in Southeast Asia at the Centara Grand at Central World Hotel, Bangkok. The meeting was organized by UNODC and funded by the European Union.
The Deputy Director-General stressed the urgent need to address how modern technology is being exploited to spread crime, violence and extremism, especially among youth. He also expressed full support for youth-led initiatives to win the fight against online extremism.
This meeting brings together over 70 youth and civil society representatives to share best practices and discuss urgent priorities to address challenges from on-line violence extremism in the region. The outcomes will be a summary of recommendations and initiatives as proposed by youth.
