เมื่อวันที่ 15 มกราคม 2569 นายพืชภพ มงคลนาวิน รองอธิบดีกรมองค์การระหว่างประเทศ กล่าวเปิดโครงการจำลองการประชุมองค์การสหประชาชาติประจำปี ค.ศ. 2026 (Thailand National MUN Conference 2026) ที่ศูนย์ประชุมสหประชาชาติ กรุงเทพฯ รองอธิบดีฯ เน้นบทบาทสำคัญของเยาวชนในการขับเคลื่อนสังคมไปข้างหน้า เนื่องจากเป็นผู้มีส่วนร่วมอย่างแข็งขันในการสร้างโลกในอนาคต และกล่าวถึงการที่องค์การสหประชาชาติเป็นแกนหลักของระบบพหุภาคีที่นานาประเทศร่วมหาทางออกสำหรับความท้าทายต่าง ๆ ระดับโลก

โครงการจำลองการประชุมสหประชาชาติจัดโดยชุมนุมผู้นำเยาวชนสหประชาชาติ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ กับเครือข่ายเยาวชนจากมหาวิทยาลัยต่าง ๆ ในประเทศไทยและต่างประเทศ โดยโครงการฯ เป็นโอกาสอันดีให้เยาวชนได้สัมผัสบรรยากาศการประชุมระหว่างประเทศและได้ฝึกฝนทักษะสำคัญทางการทูต ซึ่งเป็นประโยชน์ต่อการบ่มเพาะพลเมืองโลกรุ่นต่อไป

On 15 January 2026, Mr. Phuchphop Mongkolnavin, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, delivered opening remarks at the opening ceremony of the Thailand National Model United Nations (MUN) Conference 2026 at the United Nations Conference Centre, Bangkok. The Deputy Director-General emphasized the important role of youth as active participants in shaping the world’s future. He underscored the importance of the United Nations as the core of the multilateral system where countries come together to find solutions to global problems.

The event was organized by the Thammasat University MUN Club in collaboration with youth networks from universities in Thailand and abroad. The MUN conference serves as a good opportunity for young people to experience international conference and practice important diplomatic skills, which can help cultivate the next generations of global citizens.
