นายพืชภพ มงคลนาวิน รองอธิบดีกรมองค์การระหว่างประเทศเข้าร่วมงานเลี้ยงเฉลิมฉลองเนื่องในโอกาสครบรอบ 75 ปีของปฏิญญาสากลว่าด้วยสิทธิมนุษยชน (Universal Declaration of Human Rights- UDHR) ณ เอสแคป เมื่อวันที่ 11 ธค 2566 โดยรองอธิบดีพืชภพฯ กล่าวถ้อยแถลงเน้นถึงความสำคัญของ UDHR ซึ่งเป็นพื้นฐานของมาตรฐานและกฎหมายระหว่างประเทศด้านสิทธิมนุษยชน รวมถึงพัฒนาการด้านสิทธิมนุษยชนในประเทศไทย ทั้งนี้ รองอธิบดีพืชภพฯ กล่าวถึงความคืบหน้าด้านสิทธิมนุษยชนของไทย รวมถึงการมีผลใช้บังคับของ พรบ. ป้องกันและปราบปรามการทรมานฯ พ.ศ. 2565 การรับรองแผนปฏิบัติการระดับชาติว่าด้วยธุรกิจและสิทธิมนุษยชน ฉบับที่ 2และการเห็นชอบหลักการต่อร่าง พ.ร.บ. สมรสเท่าเทียม โดยคณะรัฐมนตรี

             นอกจากนี้ รองอธิบดีพืชภพฯ ยังได้กล่าวถึงประเด็นที่ไทยประสงค์จะผลักดันในการสมัครเป็นสมาชิกคณะมนตรีสิทธิมนุษยชนแห่งสหประชาชาติ วาระปี ค.ศ. 2025-2027 ด้วย

             Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, Mr. Phuchphop Mongkolnavin, participated in the reception to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) at UNESCAP on 11 December 2023.

             On this occation, DDG Mongkolnavin delivered remarks highlighting the importance of UDHR as a foundation of international human rights laws and standards as well las a basis of human rights developments in Thailand. He also highlighted some recent human rights development in Thailand such as the entry into force of the Act on Prevention and Suppression of Torture and Enforced Disappearance B.E. 2565, the adoption of the Second National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights and the approval by the cabinet of the Equal Marriage Bill.

             In addition, DDG Mongkolnavin also outlined the priority and agenda that Thailand wishes to push forward in its campaign for the membership to the Human Rights Council (HRC) for the term 2025-2027.
