เมื่อวันที่ ๕ กันยายน ๒๕๖๘ กรมองค์การระหว่างประเทศ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ร่วมกับสำนักงานผู้ประสานงานสหประชาชาติประจำประเทศไทย จัดการเสวนาในหัวข้อ “Careers at the MFA and the UN” ในโอกาสการครบรอบ ๑๕๐ ปีการสถาปนากระทรวงการต่างประเทศและการครบรอบ ๘๐ ปี การก่อตั้งสหประชาชาติ โดยพิธีเปิดได้รับเกียรติจาก นายพืชภพ มงคลนาวิน รองอธิบดีกรมองค์การระหว่างประเทศ และ Ms. Michaela Friberg-Storey ผู้ประสานงานสหประชาชาติประจำประเทศไทย กล่าวเปิดงาน

การเสวนาจัดขึ้นเพื่อให้นักเรียน นักศึกษา และผู้สนใจได้เรียนรู้เส้นทางการเข้าทำงานด้านการทูตและการเข้าทำงานในสหประชาชาติ โดยแบ่งเป็น ๒ ช่วง ได้แก่

• Careers at the MFAซึ่งถ่ายทอดประสบการณ์การเป็นนักการทูตของไทย โดยนายเชิดเกียรติ อัตถากร อดีตเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงพนมเปญ รวมถึงให้ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับเส้นทางอาชีพ คุณสมบัติ และทักษะที่จำเป็น
• Careers at the UNซึ่งทีมงาน UN ให้ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับประเภทของตำแหน่งงาน เส้นทางการสมัคร ค่าตอบแทนและสวัสดิการ รวมถึงแบ่งปันประสบการณ์ตรงจากผู้ที่ทำงานใน UN

งานเสวนาในครั้งนี้ นอกจากการเป็นเวทีในการแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้แล้ว ยังช่วยสร้างแรงบันดาลใจให้เยาวชนไทยเพื่อก้าวสู่เส้นทางการทำงานในระดับนานาชาติ พัฒนาศักยภาพของบุคลากรไทยในการทำงานด้านการทูตและในองค์การระหว่างประเทศ ซึ่งจะยกระดับบทบาทของไทยในประชาคมโลก และสนับสนุนการขับเคลื่อนบทบาทของประเทศไทยในประชาคมโลกอย่างสร้างสรรค์และยั่งยืนต่อไป

On 5 September 2025, the Department of International Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, in collaboration with the United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office in Thailand, organized a seminar on “Careers at the MFA and the UN” to mark the 150^th anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the 80^th anniversary of the United Nations. The opening session was presided over by Mr. Phuchphop Mongkolnavin, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, and Ms. Michaela Friberg-Storey, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Thailand.

The seminar was designed to provide students, young professionals, and interested participants with insights into career paths in diplomacy and the UN. It was divided into two sessions:

• Careers at the MFA, where H.E. Ambassador Cherdkiat Atthakor, former Thai Ambassador to Phnom Penh shared first-hand experiences of Thai diplomats, as well as information on career paths, qualifications, and essential skills;
• Careers at the UN, where the team from UN provided information on types of positions within the UN, application processes, remuneration and benefits, along with personal experiences.

In addition to serving as a platform for knowledge exchange, the seminar sought to inspire Thai youth to pursue careers on the international stage, enhance the capacity of Thai professionals in diplomacy and international organizations, and hence elevate Thailand’s constructive role in the global community.
