เมื่อวันที่ ๒๑-๒๒ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๘ กรมองค์การระหว่างประเทศ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศร่วมกับสมาคมสหประชาชาติแห่งประเทศไทย ได้จัดกิจกรรมเผยแพร่ความรู้เกี่ยวกับองค์การสหประชาชาติ ยูเนสโก และการต่างประเทศของไทย ให้แก่นักเรียนโรงเรียนอุดรพิทยานุกูล โรงเรียนสตรีราชินูทิศ และนักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏอุดรธานี ซึ่งจัดขึ้นที่สถาบันการศึกษาดังกล่าวโดยมีผู้เข้าร่วมทั้งหมดกว่า ๓๐๐ คน ที่เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมและตอบปัญหาเกี่ยวกับสหประชาชาติ

จังหวัดอุดรธานีเป็นจังหวัดเดียวในประเทศไทยที่มีแหล่งมรดกโลกทางวัฒนธรรม ๒ แห่ง ได้แก่ แหล่งโบราณสถานบ้านเชียง และอุทยานประวัติศาสตร์ภูพระบาท

กิจกรรมครั้งนี้ไม่เพียงมุ่งเน้นการให้ความรู้ แต่ยังเชื่อมโยงอัตลักษณ์ท้องถิ่นกับเวทีโลก ทั้งยังจัดขึ้นเพื่อเผยแพร่การทูตพหุภาคีของไทยในโอกาสครบ ๘๐ ปีแห่งการก่อตั้งองค์การสหประชาชาติ และครบ ๑๕๐ ปีแห่งการสถาปนากระทรวงการต่างประเทศในปี ๒๕๖๘ ด้วย

On 21–22 July 2025, the Department of International Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the United Nations Association of Thailand (UNAT), organized outreach activities to raise awareness about the roles of the United Nations (UN), UNESCO, and Thailand’s diplomacy. Over 300 students of Udon Pittayanukoon School, Satri Rachinuthit School, and Udon Thani Rajabhat University participated in the event held at their institutes.

Udon Thani is the only province in Thailand that hosts two cultural World Heritage Sites — Ban Chiang Archaeological Sites and Phu Phra Bat Historical Park.

These activities aim to share knowledge and connect local identity and heritage with the global stage. This initiative was part of The Ministry’s efforts to promote multilateral diplomacy, while celebrating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations and the 150th anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand in 2025.
