ในโอกาสที่ประเทศไทยเป็นสมาชิกสหประชาชาติครบ ๘๐ ปี ในปีนี้ เมื่อวันที่ ๒ - ๓ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๙ ข้าราชการและเจ้าหน้าที่จากกรมองค์การระหว่างประเทศ ร่วมกับสมาคมสหประชาชาติแห่งประเทศไทย ได้จัดกิจกรรมให้ความรู้แก่เยาวชนเกี่ยวกับองค์การสหประชาชาติและการต่างประเทศของไทย 
ณ สถาบันการศึกษาในจังหวัดขอนแก่น เพื่อสร้างความรู้ความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับสหประชาชาติและบทบาทการทูตพหุภาคีของไทยให้แก่เยาวชน โดยได้จัดกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ดังนี้  

• วันที่ ๒ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๙ จัดกิจกรรมให้แก่นักเรียนโรงเรียนขอนแก่นวิทยายนจำนวน ๘๐ คน
• วันที่ ๓ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๙ ช่วงเช้า จัดกิจกรรมให้แก่นักศึกษาวิทยาลัยนานาชาติ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นจำนวน ๑๐๐ คน
• วันที่ ๓ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๙ ช่วงบ่าย จัดกิจกรรมให้แก่ นักเรียนโรงเรียนสาธิตมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นจำนวน ๑๐๐ คน

จังหวัดขอนแก่นมีความสำคัญในฐานะศูนย์กลางการศึกษาและการพัฒนาที่สำคัญที่สุดแห่งหนึ่ง
ในภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นยังมีบทบาทสำคัญในการขับเคลื่อนเป้าหมายการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืนของสหประชาชาติ ด้านการพัฒนาเมืองอัจฉริยะ การรับมือกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ และการส่งเสริมการมีส่วนร่วมของเยาวชน

นอกเหนือจากการสร้างความรู้เกี่ยวกับสหประชาชาติและการต่างประเทศของไทยแล้ว กิจกรรมดังกล่าวได้สร้างความเชื่อมโยงระหว่างประเด็นท้องถิ่นกับวาระระดับโลกโดยแสดงให้เห็นถึงความสามารถของชุมชนและสถาบันการศึกษาในการส่งเสริมการพัฒนาที่ยังยืน

เยาวชนทั้งสามสถาบันการศึกษาได้ให้ความสนใจในกิจกรรมที่จัดขึ้นอย่างดียิ่งและมีส่วนร่วมในการตอบปัญหาเกี่ยวกับสหประชาชาติอย่างกระตือรือร้นและสนุกสนาน

กรมองค์การระหว่างประเทศ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ และสมาคมสหประชาชาติแห่งประเทศไทย จะร่วมกันจัดกิจกรรมเพื่อเสริมสร้างความรู้เกี่ยวกับสหประชาชาติและการทูตพหุภาคีของไทย ให้แก่เยาวชนในสถาบันการศึกษาในภาคต่าง ๆ ของไทยต่อไปอีกในอนาคต

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of Thailand’s membership to the United Nations this year, officials from the Department of International Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and The United Nations Association of Thailand, organized an outreach activity on the United Nations and Thailand’s foreign affairs for students in Khon Kaen Province on 2–3 July 2026. The activity aimed to enhance youth’s understanding of  the United Nations and Thailand’s role in multilateral diplomacy at the following institutions:

• On 2 July 2026, at Khon Kaen Wittayayon School for 80 students.
• On the morning of 3 July 2026, at International College, Khon Kaen University for 100 students.
• On the afternoon of 3 July 2026, at Khon Kaen University Demonstration School for 100 students.

Khon Kaen Province is one of the leading centres for education and development in northeastern Thailand. Khon Kaen University has also been at the forefront of advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of smart city development, climate action, and youth engagement.

Beyond providing knowledge about the United Nations and Thailand’s foreign affairs, the activity sought to connect local issues with the global agenda by demonstrating how communities and educational institutions can contribute to sustainable development.

Students from all three educational institutions showed a high level of interest in the activity and actively participated in the interactive quiz on the United Nations with great enthusiasm. The activity fostered an engaging and enjoyable learning environment while enhancing participants’ understanding of the work and values of the United Nations.

The Department of International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and The United Nations Association of Thailand (UNAT) will continue to collaborate in organizing similar outreach activities to promote knowledge and understanding of the United Nations and Thailand’s multilateral diplomacy among students at educational institutions across the country.
