เมื่อวันที่ 27 กันยายน 2568 นายสีหศักดิ์ พวงเกตุแก้ว รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ กล่าวถ้อยแถลงของไทยในการอภิปรายทั่วไปของการประชุมสมัชชาสหประชาชาติ สมัยสามัญ ครั้งที่ 80 ณ GA Hall สำนักงานใหญ่สหประชาชาติ นครนิวยอร์ก
รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ยืนยันการสนับสนุนของไทยต่อระบบพหุภาคีที่มีสหประชาชาติเป็นศูนย์กลาง สนับสนุนการปฏิรูปสหประชาชาติ โดยเฉพาะ UN80 Initiative และการยึดมั่นในกฎระเบียบและกฎหมายระหว่างประเทศ ซึ่งรวมถึง การเคารพในอธิปไตยและบูรณภาพแห่งดินแดน การแก้ไขข้อพิพาทโดยสันติวิธี และการปฏิบัติตามพันธกรณีระหว่างประเทศที่เกี่ยวข้อง ในโอกาสนี้ รัฐมนตรีว่าการฯ ยังได้แจ้งเกี่ยวกับบทบาทของไทยในการให้ความช่วยเหลือด้านมนุษยธรรมแก่ผู้หนีภัยการสู้รบจากเมียนมา ด้านความร่วมมือด้านสาธารณสุข และการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนโดยยึดหลักปรัญชาเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง และการปราบปรามอาชญากรรมข้ามชาติ ซึ่งรวมถึงอาชญากรรมออนไลน์
จากการที่รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศกัมพูชากล่าวพาดพิงไทยในสถานการณ์ข้อพิพาทบริเวณชายแดนระหว่างไทยกับกัมพูชาในการอภิปรายทั่วไปในช่วงเช้าของวันเดียวกัน รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศได้กล่าวตอบโต้ฝ่ายกัมพูชา โดยแสดงความผิดหวังที่กัมพูชายังคงขาดความจริงใจในการแสวงหาทางออกร่วมกันผ่านกลไกทวิภาคีที่เกี่ยวข้องโดยสันติวิธี และยังคงกระทำยั่วยุและละเมิดข้อตกลงหยุดยิงด้วยการยิงอาวุธข้ามแดนเข้ามาในดินแดนไทยตลอดช่วงสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมา เพื่อพยายามที่จะยกระดับสถานการณ์ชายแดนระหว่างสองประเทศไปสู่ระดับนานาชาติ ในโอกาสนี้ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้ย้ำท่าทีของไทยที่ต้องการสันติภาพ และความพร้อมที่จะรักษาอธิปไตยและบูรณภาพแห่งดินแดนของไทย อีกทั้งยังเรียกร้องให้กัมพูชามีความจริงใจและสุจริตใจ เพื่อสร้างพื้นที่สำหรับการพูดคุยและการติดต่อสื่อสารที่จะนำไปสู่การรื้อฟื้นความไว้เนื้อเชื่อใจระหว่างกัน และการร่วมกันคลี่คลายสถานการณ์ผ่านกลไกทวิภาคีที่มีอยู่ เพื่อประโยชน์ร่วมกันของประชาชนของทั้งสองประเทศ
On 27 September 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, delivered Thailand’s statement at the General Debate of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly at the General Assembly Hall, UN Headquarters in New York.
The Minister reaffirmed Thailand’s strong support for a multilateral system with the United Nations at its core, and for UN reform through the UN80 Initiative. The Minister also underlined Thailand’s commitment to the principles of international law, and the respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the peaceful settlement of disputes, and compliance with relevant international obligations. The Minister further highlighted Thailand’s humanitarian tradition in providing assistance to displaced persons from Myanmar, as well as Thailand’s role in public health, sustainable development guided by the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP), and the combat against transnational crime, including online scams.
In response to the statement by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cambodia on the border situation between Thailand and Cambodia during the General Debate in the morning on the same day, the Minister expressed disappointment at Cambodia’s continued lack of sincerity in seeking a peaceful solution through the relevant bilateral mechanisms, while engaging in provocative actions and violations of the ceasefire agreement, including the firing of weapons across the border into Thai territory during the past week with an attempt to internationalize the border issue.
The Minister reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to peace, while emphasizing the country’s readiness to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Minister urged Cambodia to demonstrate sincerity and good faith, to create space for dialogue and communication that would help restore mutual trust, and to resolve the situation peacefully through existing bilateral mechanisms, for the mutual benefit of the peoples of both countries.
