เมื่อวันที่ ๒๔ ตุลาคม ๒๕๖๘ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศได้ร่วมกับสำนักงานผู้ประสานงานสหประชาชาติประจำประเทศไทย โดยได้รับการสนับสนุนจากสยามพิวรรธน์ จัดกิจกรรมเพื่อเฉลิมฉลองวันสหประชาชาติประจำปี ๒๕๖๘ ณ ศูนย์การค้าสยามพารากอน ภายในงานประกอบด้วยพิธีเปิดนิทรรศการภาพถ่าย “30 Stories, 17 Goals, One Road to SDGs” ถ่ายทอดเรื่องราวของบุคคลในประเทศไทยที่ได้รับการสนับสนุนจากสหประชาชาติและได้สร้างแรงบันดาลใจและขับเคลื่อนการเปลี่ยนแปลงเชิงบวกให้กับชุมชนและสังคมรอบข้าง
นายศรัณย์ เจริญสุวรรณ เลขานุการรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ในนามของรัฐบาลไทย ได้ร่วมกับนางมิเกลล่า ฟิลแบรย์-สตอเร่ ผู้ประสานงานสหประชาชาติประจำประเทศไทย กล่าวเปิดกิจกรรมวันสหประชาชาติประจำปี ๒๕๖๘ โดยเลขานุการรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้แสดงความยินดีต่อการครบรอบ ๘๐ ปีของการก่อตั้งสหประชาชาติในปีนี้ ซึ่งได้ช่วยสร้างสันติภาพและความมั่นคง การพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน และส่งเสริมศักดิ์ศรีความเป็นมนุษย์ให้กับผู้คนทั่วโลก พร้อมย้ำถึงบทบาทที่แข็งขันของไทยในการดำเนินการเพื่อบรรลุเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนหรือ SDGs และความสำคัญของความร่วมมือกับสำนักงานสหประชาชาติประจำประเทศไทย ตลอดจนการเป็นประเทศเจ้าบ้านที่ดีให้กับคณะกรรมาธิการเศรษฐกิจและสังคมแห่งสหประชาชาติสำหรับเอเชียและแปซิฟิก (เอสแคป) และองค์กรต่างๆ ของสหประชาชาติมายาวนาน “ประเทศไทยขอยืนยันเจตนารมณ์ในการเป็นหุ้นส่วนที่ดีและน่าเชื่อถือของสหประชาชาติ เรามุ่งมั่นที่จะสนับสนุนการดำเนินงานขององค์กรต่าง ๆ ของสหประชาชาติให้มีความก้าวหน้ายิ่งขึ้น และทำให้กรุงเทพมหานครยังคงเป็นศูนย์กลางที่มีชีวิตชีวาของความร่วมมือพหุภาคีในภูมิภาคเอเชียแปซิฟิก”
นอกจากนี้ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศได้ร่วมจัดการเสวนาในหัวข้อ “Empowering Thai Youth for Global Leadership” โดยมีผู้แทนเยาวชนไทยที่ได้เข้าร่วมการประชุมสมัชชาสหประชาชาติ เป็นผู้ร่วมเสวนาเพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองเกี่ยวกับการสร้างอนาคตที่ยั่งยืนผ่านบทบาทของกลุ่มต่าง ๆ โดยเฉพาะเยาวชนไทย
ทั้งนี้ วันที่ ๒๔ ตุลาคม ของทุกปี สมัชชาสหประชาชาติได้กำหนดให้เป็นวันสหประชาชาติ เพื่อรำลึกถึงการต่อตั้งองค์การสหประชาชาติขึ้นอย่างเป็นทางการ ซึ่งตรงกับวันครบรอบการมีผลใช้บังคับของกฎบัตรสหประชาชาติเมื่อวันที่ ๒๔ ตุลาคม ๒๔๘๘ (ค.ศ. ๑๙๔๕) โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อสร้างความตระหนักรู้เกี่ยวกับภารกิจของสหประชาชาติและความมุ่งมั่นร่วมกันของประชาคมโลกในที่จะร่วมมือกันเพื่อเสริมสร้างสันติภาพและความเป็นอยู่ที่ดีของผู้คนทั่วโลก
On 24 October 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in Thailand and with support from Siam Piwat Group, organized an event to commemorate United Nations Day 2025 at Siam Paragon. The highlight of the event was the official launch of the photo exhibition “30 Stories, 17 Goals, One Road to 2030” in the morning session. The exhibition presents inspiring stories of individuals and communities across Thailand who, with support from the UN, are helping to advance the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
At the event, Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the Thai government, together with Ms. Michaela Friberg-Storey, UN Resident Coordinator in Thailand, officially opened the United Nations Day activities. The Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs congratulated the UN on its 80th anniversary this year, noting its role in promoting peace and security, sustainable development, and human dignity worldwide. He also took this opportunity to emphasize Thailand’s active role in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Thailand’s commitment to be a good host country to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and other UN agencies over the years. “We remain dedicated to providing a supportive environment for the UN system to thrive, and to ensuring that Bangkok remains a vibrant hub for multilateral collaboration in the region.”
The Ministry also organized a panel discussion — “Empowering Thai Youth for Global Leadership” — which provided a platform for exchanging views on building a sustainable future through the active roles of various groups, especially Thai youth. Participants comprised Thai youth delegates who attended UNGA sessions.
24 October each year was designated by the United Nations General Assembly as United Nations Day, marking the anniversary of the founding of this noble organisation and the entry into force of the UN Charter on 24 October 1945. The day aims to raise awareness of the UN’s work and the shared commitment of the international community to foster multilateral cooperation for peace and the well-being of people around the world.
