เมื่อวันที่ ๗ มิถุนายน ๒๕๖๗ กรมองค์การระหว่างประเทศกระทรวงการต่างประเทศได้จัดการหารือกับผู้แทนประชาสังคมเกี่ยวกับการสมัครเป็นสมาชิกคณะมนตรีสิทธิมนุษยชนแห่งสหประชาชาติ (Human Rights Council: HRC) ของไทย วาระปี ค.ศ. ๒๐๒๕-๒๐๒๗ โดยมีการแลกเปลี่ยนความเห็นเกี่ยวกับประเด็นสิทธิมนุษยชน ในมิติต่างๆ รวมถึงสิทธิแรงงานกับผู้แทนองค์กรภาคประชาสังคมกว่า ๔๐ คน

                ในการหารือประธานกรรมการสิทธิมนุษยชนแห่งชาติ (นางสาวพรประไพ กาญจนรินทร์) และอดีตประธานคณะมนตรีสิทธิมนุษยชนแห่งสหประชาชาติ วาระปี มิ.ย 2553-มิ.ย 2554 (นายสีหศักดิ์ พวงเกตุแก้ว) พร้อมด้วยผู้แทนกระทรวงยุติธรรม กระทรวงการพัฒนาสังคมและความมั่นคงของมนุษย์ และกระทรวงแรงงานได้ร่วมแลกเปลี่ยนความเห็นกับภาคประชาสังคมอย่างกว้างขวางเกี่ยวกับพัฒนาการ และความท้าทายด้านสิทธิมนุษยชนในด้านต่าง ๆ ในระดับประเทศ ภูมิภาค และเวทีโลก รวมถึงความสำคัญของการมีปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างภาครัฐกับภาคส่วนต่างๆ ในสังคมเพื่อขับเคลื่อนงานด้านสิทธิมนุษยชน

                 On 7 June 2024, the Department of International Organization, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand hosted a consultation with civil society organizations on Thailand’s candidature to Human Rights Council (HRC) for the term 2025-2027.

                  The consultation was attended by more than 40 representatives from civil society organizations working on human rights, migration and labour's rights.

                During the session, the Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission of Thailand (Ms. Pornprapai Ganjanarintr) and former President of HRC for the term June 2010-June 2011 (Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow) as well as representatives from the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security and Ministry of Labour candidly exchanged views on Thailand's HRC candidature, developments and challenges on human rights in Thailand, the region and at the global level, as well as on the importance of promoting dialogue between the public sector with all sectors of the society in moving forward human rights agenda.
