เมื่อวันที่ 22 เมษายน 2569 นางสาวพินทุ์สุดา ชัยนาม อธิบดีกรมองค์การระหว่างประเทศ พบหารือกับนาย Eamonn Murphy ผู้อำนวยการโครงการโรคเอดส์แห่งสหประชาชาติ (Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS: UNAIDS) ประจำภูมิภาคเอเชียและแปซิฟิก โดยมี ดร. พัชรา เบญจรัตนาภรณ์ ผู้อำนวยการ UNAIDS ประจำประเทศไทย เข้าร่วมด้วย
อธิบดีกรมองค์การระหว่างประเทศแสดงความยินดีต่อความเป็นหุ้นส่วนอันยาวนานระหว่างไทยกับ UNAIDS ขณะที่ฝ่าย UNAIDS ชื่นชมบทบาทนำของไทยในการรับมือกับเอชไอวีและโรคเอดส์ โดยเฉพาะการส่งเสริมการเข้าถึงบริการสุขภาพที่เกี่ยวข้องภายใต้หลักประกันสุขภาพถ้วนหน้า (Universal Health Coverage: UHC) และการดำเนินการเพื่อป้องกันการถ่ายทอดเชื้อจากแม่สู่ลูก รวมถึงการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้และแนวปฏิบัติที่ดีเพื่อแก้ไขปัญหาเอชไอวีและโรคเอดส์กับประเทศต่าง ๆ ทั่วโลก
ทั้งสองฝ่ายหารือเกี่ยวกับการประชุมระดับสูงว่าด้วยเอชไอวีและโรคเอดส์ ซึ่งมีกำหนดจัดภายใต้กรอบของสมัชชาสหประชาชาติ ณ นครนิวยอร์กในปีนี้ และความสำคัญของการมีปฏิญญาทางการเมืองของการประชุมระดับสูงว่าด้วยเอชไอวีและโรคเอดส์ที่เข้มแข็ง เพื่อขับเคลื่อนการดำเนินการเพื่อการยุติเอชไอวีและโรคเอดส์ภายในปี 2573 ตามเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน ทั้งยังหารือถึงความเป็นไปได้ในการจัดกิจกรรมร่วมกันระหว่างรัฐบาลไทยกับ UNAIDS เพื่อสะท้อนถึงความสำคัญของการประชุมระดับสูงดังกล่าว
On 22 April 2026, Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, had a discussion with Mr. Eamonn Murphy, Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) Regional Director for Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Also in attendance was Ms. Patchara Benjarattanaporn, Country Director of UNAIDS Thailand.
The Director-General expressed appreciation for the longstanding partnership between Thailand and UNAIDS.The UNAIDS Regional Director commended Thailand’s leadership in HIV/AIDS response, especially in promoting access to relevant health services through the universal health coverage (UHC) scheme, eliminating mother-to-child transmission of HIV, as well as the sharing of knowledge and best practices in addressing HIV/AIDS with other countries all over the world.
Both sides exchanged views on the upcoming High-Level Meeting on HIV/AIDS, to be organized under the framework of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York this year, and the importance of having a strong Political Declaration, as the meeting’s outcome document, to move forward efforts to end HIV/AIDS by 2030 in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals. They also discussed possible collaboration between the government of Thailand and UNAIDS to highlight the significance of the said High-Level Meeting.
