เมื่อวันที่ ๒ สิงหาคม ๒๕๖๗ นายรัศม์ ชาลีจันทร์ ผู้ช่วยรัฐมนตรีประจำกระทรวงการต่างประเทศได้ให้การต้อนรับและได้หารือแลกเปลี่ยนกับคณะเอกอัครราชทูตประเทศกำลังพัฒนาที่เป็นหมู่เกาะขนาดเล็ก (SIDS) ประจำสหประชาชาติ นครนิวยอร์ก เพื่อหารือแนวทางการต่อยอดความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างไทยกับกลุ่มประเทศ SIDS และแนวทางเพื่อส่งเสริมความร่วมมือด้านการพัฒนาและสิทธิมนุษยชนในเวทีพหุภาคี โดยมีรองปลัดกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ เอกอัครราชทูตผู้แทนถาวรประจำสหประชาชาติ นครนิวยอร์ก รองอธิบดีกรมองค์การระหว่างประเทศ อัครราชทูตประจำกรมส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศ และผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิจากภาคส่วนต่างๆ เข้าร่วมแลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็น
On 2 August 2024, H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs welcomed and discussed with Ambassadors and Permanent Representatives of Small Island Developing States (SIDS) on ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Thailand and SIDS countries, as well as exchanged views on ways to cooperate on the issues of sustainable development and human rights. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Permanent Secretary, H.E. Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to UN New York, Deputy Director - General of the Department of International Organizations, Minister at the Thailand's International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and highly distinguished representatives from various sectors in Thailand.
