เมื่อวันที่ 23 กรกฎาคม 2568 นายมาริษ เสงี่ยมพงษ์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้พบหารือกับนาย António Guterres เลขาธิการสหประชาชาติ ในห้วงการประชุมเวทีหารือทางการเมืองระดับสูงว่าด้วยการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน ประจำปี ค.ศ. 2025 (HLPF) ณ สำนักงานใหญ่สหประชาชาติ

ไทยยืนยันการเสริมสร้างความเป็นหุ้นส่วนกับสหประชาชาติในการขับเคลื่อนการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนในระดับโลกและระดับภูมิภาค ผ่านการแบ่งปันประสบการณ์และแนวปฏิบัติที่ดีของไทยเพื่อให้ประเทศต่าง ๆ นำไปปรับใช้ได้ต่อไป นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายยังได้แลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับเสถียรภาพและความมั่นคงในภูมิภาค รวมถึงสถานการณ์ในเมียนมา

ในโอกาสนี้ เลขาธิการสหประชาชาติได้ขอบคุณไทยที่เป็นเจ้าภาพและสนับสนุนการทำงานของหน่วยงานสหประชาชาติที่ตั้งอยู่ในไทย โดยรัฐมนตรีฯ ยืนยันความพร้อมที่จะทำงานร่วมกับสำนักเลขาธิการสหประชาชาติ ตลอดจนคณะกรรมาธิการเศรษฐกิจและสังคมสำหรับเอเชียและแปซิฟิกแห่งสหประชาชาติ (United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific - UNESCAP) เพื่อสนับสนุนการปฏิรูปสหประชาชาติให้มีประสิทธิภาพยิ่งขึ้นต่อไป

On 23 July 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, discussed with H.E. Mr. António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, during the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development 2025 (HLPF) at the United Nations Headquarters.

Minister Maris reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the United Nations in advancing global and regional efforts for sustainable development. To this end, he expressed Thailand’s readiness to share its experiences and best practices to support development efforts in other countries. Both sides also exchanged views on regional peace and security, including the situation in Myanmar.

On this occasion, the UN Secretary-General expressed appreciation for Thailand's hosting of and continued support for United Nations agencies based in Thailand, while Minister Maris reiterated Thailand's readiness to work with the UN Secretariat as well as the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in supporting the ongoing UN reform efforts.
