เมื่อวันที่ ๑๘ สิงหาคม ๒๕๖๘ นายมาริษ เสงี่ยมพงษ์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ พบหารือกับนางมีรยานา สปอลยาริช เอ็กเกอร์ (Ms. Miryana Spoljaric Egger) ประธานคณะกรรมการกาชาดระหว่างประเทศ (International Committee of the Red Cross: ICRC) ในโอกาสเดินทางเยือนไทย เพื่อแสดงปาฐกถา “สมเด็จเจ้าฟ้ามหาจักรีสิรินธร” ครั้งที่ ๑๑ ในหัวข้อ “การธำรงไว้ซึ่งความเป็นมนุษย์ ในสงครามร่วมสมัย” ณ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ

รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศได้แสดงความขอบคุณประธาน ICRC สำหรับการถ่ายทอดประสบการณ์และมุมมองต่อความท้าทายด้านมนุษยธรรมในปัจจุบัน รวมถึงบทบาทและการปฏิบัติภารกิจด้านมนุษยธรรมของ ICRC ทั่วโลก นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือเกี่ยวกับประเด็นกฎหมายมนุษยธรรมระหว่างประเทศ อาทิ สถานการณ์ด้านมนุษยธรรมและการขัดกันทางอาวุธ การปกป้องชีวิตและสวัสดิภาพของพลเรือน การเคารพและปฏิบัติตามกฎหมายมนุษธรรมระหว่างประเทศ และการละเว้นจากการเผยแพร่ข่าวลวงและข้อมูลที่เป็นเท็จ โดยเฉพาะผ่านช่องทางสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ ซึ่งอาจเป็นปัจจัยที่ทำให้สถานการณ์ความขัดแย้งทวีความรุนแรงยิ่งขึ้น

อนึ่ง รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศยังได้พบกับประธาน ICRC อีกครั้งในวันที่ ๒๘ สิงหาคม ๒๕๖๘ ในโอกาสเยือนนครเจนีวาอย่างเป็นทางการด้วย

On 18 August 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand met with Ms. Miryana Spoljaric Egger, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), on the occasion of her visit to Thailand to give a lecture on “Upholding Humanity in Contemporary Armed Conflicts” at the 11^th “Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn” at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed appreciation to the ICRC President for sharing her experiences and perspectives on current humanitarian challenges, as well as the ICRC’s role and humanitarian operations worldwide. Both sides discussed key issues to be considered in humanitarian situations and armed conflicts, including the protection of civilian lives and welfare, respect for and compliance with international humanitarian law, and the need to refrain from the dissemination of disinformation and fake news, particularly on social media, which may further exacerbate the situation.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand met with the President of the ICRC again on 28 August 2025 during the Minister’s official visit to Geneva.
