เมื่อวันที่ 13 พฤษภาคม 2568 นางเอกสิริ ปิณฑะรุจิ ปลัดกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้พบหารือกับนาย Jagan Chapagain เลขาธิการสหพันธ์สภากาชาดและสภาเสี้ยววงเดือนแดงระหว่างประเทศ (International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies: IFRC) ในโอกาสที่เลขาธิการฯ เดินทางเยือนไทยและเมียนมา

ทั้งสองฝ่ายแลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองเกี่ยวกับสถานการณ์ด้านมนุษยธรรมในเมียนมา โดยเฉพาะภายหลังเหตุการณ์แผ่นดินไหวเมื่อวันที่ 28 มีนาคม 2568 โดยปลัดฯ ย้ำถึงการให้ความสำคัญต่อการให้ความช่วยเหลือทางมนุษยธรรมแก่เมียนมาของไทย ที่ได้ดำเนินการในระดับทวิภาคี อาเซียน และผ่านองค์การระหว่างประเทศ รวมถึงทั้งจากภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน และภาคประชาสังคม ฝ่าย IFRC แสดงความพร้อมที่จะร่วมมือกับไทยและอาเซียนในการสนับสนุนการให้ความช่วยเหลือทางมนุษยธรรมในพื้นที่ที่มีความต้องการมากที่สุดในเมียนมา อีกทั้งได้ชื่นชมบทบาทและการสนับสนุนของไทยในความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศด้านการลดความเสี่ยงและการรับมือภัยพิบัติ

On 13 May 2025, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, had a discussion with Mr. Jagan Chapagain, Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), on the occasion of the latter’s visit to Thailand and Myanmar.

Both sides exchanged views on the humanitarian situation in Myanmar, particularly in the aftermath of the earthquake on 28 March 2025. The Permanent Secretary reiterated the importance of the provision of humanitarian assistance to Myanmar through bilateral channels, ASEAN, and International Organizations as well as by government, private sector and civil society organizations. The IFRC expressed its readiness to work with Thailand and ASEAN, in supporting the provision of humanitarian assistance to areas with the most pressing humanitarian needs in Myanmar. They also commended Thailand’s role and support in promoting international cooperation in the area of disaster risk reduction and response.
