เมื่อวันที่ 27 พฤษภาคม 2567 นายเศรษฐา ทวีสิน นายกรัฐมนตรี ได้กล่าวถ้อยแถลงผ่านระบบออนไลน์ ในช่วงพิธีเปิดการประชุมสมัชชาอนามัยโลก (World Health Assembly - WHA) ครั้งที่ 77 ณ นครเจนีวา ประเทศสวิตเซอร์แลนด์  โดยภายใต้หัวข้อ "All for Health, Health for All" นายกรัฐมนตรีได้กล่าวถ้อยแถลงในนามประเทศสมาชิกองค์การอนามัยโลกภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (WHO SEARO) กล่าวถึงประสบการณ์ที่มีมานานของไทยในการส่งเสริมให้มีหลักประกันสุขภาพถ้วนหน้า (Universal Health Coverage - UHC) สำหรับประชาชนทุกคน เนื่องจากรัฐบาลไทยให้ความสำคัญกับการสาธารณสุข และเห็นว่า คนทุกคนควรสามารถเข้าถึงบริการการแพทย์ รวมทั้ง ไทยยังผลักดันการส่งเสริมหลักประกันสุขภาพถ้วนหน้าในเวทีระหว่างประเทศ และสนับสนุนให้ทุกประเทศร่วมผลักดันการเจรจาสนธิสัญญาที่จะนำไปสู่ความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศในรับมือการแพร่กระจายของโรคระบาดในอนาคต

On 27 May 2024, H.E. Mr. Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister of Thailand delivered a statement on behalf of the Southeast Asian World Health Organization (SEARO) , via online at the opening session of the 77th World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland.  Under the theme “All for health, Health for all”, the Prime Minister emphasized that Thailand's long standing efforts in improving healthcare and providing Universal Health Coverage (UHC) for the Thai people. The Thai Government is of the view that every person, regardless of their circumstances, has to be able to access to healthcare, and Thailand supports the international efforts in advancing UHC, as well as urges for international cooperation in  constructively work towards the Pandemic Treaty as a preparation for future uncertainty.
