เมื่อวันที่ ๒๗ พฤศจิกายน ๒๕๖๘ นายพืชภพ มงคลนาวิน รองอธิบดีกรมองค์การระหว่างประเทศ ร่วมกล่าวถ้อยแถลงเปิดงาน Inaugural Southeast Asia Sport and Youth Crime Prevention (SYCP) Conference ซึ่งจัดโดย Alliance of Sport in Criminal Justice (AoS) และสำนักงานว่าด้วยยาเสพติดและอาชญากรรมแห่งสหประชาชาติ (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime: UNODC)

ในโอกาสนี้ รองอธิบดีฯ ได้ย้ำความสำคัญของกีฬาในการเป็นเครื่องมือสร้างการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางสังคม โดยเฉพาะการป้องกันอาชญากรรมในเยาวชน อีกทั้งมีส่วนสนับสนุนการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนและเสริมสร้างสันติภาพนอกจากนี้ รองอธิบดีฯ ยังได้กล่าวถึงบทบาทของประเทศไทยในการส่งเสริมกีฬาในบริบทของการป้องกันอาชญากรรมในเวทีระหว่างประเทศ เช่น การนำเสนอข้อมติเรื่อง “Integrating sport into youth crime prevention and criminal justice strategies”

งาน Southeast Asia SYCP Conference จัดขึ้นภายหลังการเปิดตัวโครงการ SYCP (SYCP Initiative) ซึ่งริเริ่มโดยคณะกรรมการโอลิมปิกสากล (International Olympic Committee: IOC) และสำนักงานเพื่อการพัฒนาแห่งฝรั่งเศส (Agence Française de Développement: AFD) โดยจัดขึ้นก่อนการแข่งขันกีฬาซีเกมส์ ครั้งที่ ๓๓ ซึ่งประเทศไทยจะเป็นเจ้าภาพในเดือนธันวาคม ๒๕๖๘ โดยมุ่งเป็นเวทีหารือเกี่ยวกับบทบาทของกีฬาในการป้องกันอาชญากรรมในเยาวชนของประเทศในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ และผลักดันการส่งเสริมการบรรจุกีฬาเป็นเครื่องมือในยุทธศาสตร์ป้องกันอาชญากรรมในระดับชาติ

On 27 November 2025, Mr. Phuchphop Mongkolnavin, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, delivered opening remarks at the Inaugural Southeast Asia Sport and Youth Crime Prevention (SYCP) Conference, which was organised by the Alliance of Sport in Criminal Justice (AoS) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

On this occasion, the Deputy Director-General highlighted the importance of sports as a tool for driving social change, particularly in preventing youth crime, advancing sustainable development, and promoting peace. He also reiterated that Thailand has played a proactive role in promoting and integrating sport into youth crime prevention at the international level.

The Southeast Asia SYCP Conference was organized following the launch of the SYCP Initiative, spearheaded by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD). Convened shortly before the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, which Thailand will host in December 2025, the conference aims to provide a platform for Southeast Asian countries to exchange experiences and insights on the role of sport in youth crime prevention and to encourage the integration of sport-based approaches into national crime prevention strategies.
