On 21 September 2023, H.E. Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand attended the High Level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage (UHC) during the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly. The meeting reviewed ongoing global progress towards achieving Universal Health Coverage by 2030.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs shared Thailand's journey of Universal Health Coverage and emphasized the need to engage people in the decision - making process, invest in health and well-being promotion, and use social and technological innovations to improve service efficiency and health equity. To achieve this end, Thailand would push forward the Universal Coverage Scheme-Plus.

The Meeting adopted teh 2023 Political Declaration on Universal Health Coverage after rounds of consultations with multi-stakeholders and negotiations between governments earlier this year.
