เมื่อวันที่ ๒๐ พฤศจิกายน ๒๕๖๘ กรมองค์การระหว่างประเทศร่วมกับคณะรัฐศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัย ธรรมศาสตร์ จัดการเสวนาวิชาการหัวข้อ “Bandung @ 70 : A Diplomacy of the Global South” ณ ห้องนราธิป กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ เนื่องในวาระครบรอบ ๗๐ ปีของการประชุมบันดุง

          การเสวนามีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อทบทวนความสำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์ของ “จิตวิญญาณแห่งบันดุง” และพิจารณาความเชื่อมโยงต่อแนวทางการทูตของกลุ่มประเทศโลกใต้ (Global South) ในบริบทปัจจุบันพร้อมทั้งศึกษาบทบาทของไทยในการประชุมบันดุงและผลที่มีต่อทิศทางนโยบายต่างประเทศของไทย

          นางสาวพินทุ์สุดา ชัยนาม อธิบดีกรมองค์การระหว่างประเทศ และรองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ภูริ ฟูวงศ์เจริญ คณบดีคณะรัฐศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ เป็นผู้กล่าวเปิดงาน และตามด้วยปาฐกถาเรื่อง “มิตรภาพบนทางแยก : การประชุมบันดุง ๑๙๕๕ ในความสัมพันธ์ไทย-จีน” โดย ดร.อนุสนธิ์ ชินวรรโณ ผู้อำนวยการศูนย์ศึกษาการต่างประเทศ และการเสวนาวิชาการ โดยคณาจารย์จากมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์และจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย รวมทั้งผู้แทนจากกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้แก่ (๑) ศาสตราจารย์ธเนศ วงศ์ยานนาวา  (๒) รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ศุภมิตร ปิติพัฒน์ (๓) รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.จิตติภัทร พูนขำ (๔) ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.อรอนงค์ ทิพย์พิมล และ (๕) นายวิรัช ศรีพงษ์ ซึ่งได้ร่วมแลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองเกี่ยวกับบทบาทของ Global South และความสำคัญของหลักการบันดุงต่อการทูตสมัยใหม่ เช่น การเคารพอธิปไตยและบูรณภาพแห่งดินแดน การเคารพกฎบัตรสหประชาชาติ และการไม่แทรกแซงกิจการภายในของประเทศอื่น ๆ  

          อนึ่ง การประชุมบันดุง เป็นการรวมตัวกันครั้งแรกของประเทศเกิดใหม่ในภูมิภาคเอเชียและแอฟริกา และเป็นรากฐานของแนวคิดความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศกำลังพัฒนา รวมถึงการก่อตั้งกลุ่มประเทศไม่ฝักใฝ่ฝ่ายใด (Non-Alignment Movement: NAM) ทั้งนี้ การประชุมบันดุง มีที่มาจากการที่เมืองบันดุงในอินโดนีเซียเป็นสถานที่จัดการประชุมฯ   

          On 20 November 2025, the Department of International Organizations, in collaboration with the Faculty of Political Science, Thammasat University, organized an academic seminar titled “Bandung @ 70: A Diplomacy of the Global South” at the Narathip Auditorium, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The seminar commemorated the 70^th anniversary of the Bandung Conference.

          The seminar reviewed the historical significance of the “Spirit of Bandung” and explored its relevance to the current international relations, as well as the diplomacy of the Global South. Panelists also discussed Thailand’s role in the Bandung Conference and its impacts on the development of Thailand’s foreign policy.

          The event featured opening remarks by Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Puli Fuwongcharoen, Dean of the Faculty of Political Science, Thammasat University. This was followed by a keynote lecture on the significance of the Bandung Conference in the history of Thailand-China relations by Dr. Anuson Chinvanno, Director of International Studies Center and a panel discussion, featuring faculty members from Thammasat University and Chulalongkorn University as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. The panelists consisted of  Prof. Thanes Wongyannava,

         Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supamit Pitipat, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jittipat Poonkham, Asst.Prof.Dr.Onanong Thippimol and Mr. Wiraj Sripong. The discussion focused on the role of the Global South and the relevance of the Bandung Spirit in modern diplomacy, especially its emphasis on respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, adherence to the UN Charter, and the principle of non-interference.

        The Bandung Conference marked the first gathering of newly independent nations from Asia and Africa and laid the foundation for cooperation among developing countries, eventually leading to the creation of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). The conference was named after the city of Bandung in Indonesia.
