เมื่อวันที่ 17 กรกฎาคม 2569 นายสีหศักดิ์ พวงเกตุแก้ว รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้ร่วมคณะผู้แทนไทย นำโดยนายอนุทิน ชาญวีรกุล นายกรัฐมนตรี เข้าร่วมพิธีเปิดการประชุมปัญญาประดิษฐ์โลก ค.ศ. 2026 (World Artificial Intelligence Conference 2026: WAIC) ที่จีนเป็นเจ้าภาพภายใต้แนวคิด "พันธมิตรอัจฉริยะ ร่วมสร้างอนาคต” ณ ศูนย์การประชุม Shanghai World Reception Hall นครเซี่ยงไฮ้ สาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีน

ในพิธีเปิดการประชุมฯ นายกรัฐมนตรีได้ร่วมกล่าวถ้อยแถลง โดยได้ชื่นชมบทบาทของจีนด้านเทคโนโลยีดิจิทัลและ AI รวมถึงย้ำความพร้อมของไทยที่จะร่วมมือกับจีนและประชาคมระหว่างประเทศในการส่งเสริมการพัฒนา AI ที่มีธรรมาภิบาล ครอบคลุม และไม่ทิ้งใครไว้ข้างหลัง บนพื้นฐานของพหุภาคีนิยม เพื่อการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน พร้อมทั้ง นำเสนอหลักการ 3P ของไทย ได้แก่ การปกป้องคุ้มครอง (Protection) การส่งเสริมศักยภาพ (Potential) และการแบ่งปันความมั่งคั่งร่วมกัน (Prosperity) เพื่อส่งเสริมความร่วมมือด้าน AI ที่เสริมสร้างเสถียรภาพและความมั่นคงในภูมิภาค โดยเฉพาะในบริบทของการปราบปรามอาชญากรรมข้ามชาติและการหลอกลวงออนไลน์

WAICO เป็นข้อริเริ่มของจีน ซึ่งประกาศโดยนายกรัฐมนตรีจีนในการประชุมปัญญาประดิษฐ์โลก ค.ศ. 2025 ระหว่างวันที่ 26-28 กรกฎาคม 2568 ที่นครเซี่ยงไฮ้ การประชุม 2026 WAIC ในปีนี้มีความสำคัญ เนื่องจากเป็นเวทีเพื่อสนับสนุนการขับเคลื่อนให้ WAICO ให้มีผลเป็นรูปธรรม

On 17 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, joined the Thai delegation led by H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, at the opening ceremony of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2026, hosted by China under the theme “AI Partnership for a Brighter Future,” at the Shanghai World Reception Hall in Shanghai, the People’s Republic of China.

At the opening ceremony of the conference, the Prime Minister delivered remarks, commending China’s leadership in digital technology and AI. He also reaffirmed Thailand’s readiness to work closely with China and the international community to promote AI development that is well-governed, inclusive, and leaves no one behind, based on multilateralism, and in support of sustainable development. The Prime Minister also presented the 3P principles of Protection, Potential, and Prosperity, to advance AI cooperation on key priorities that enhance regional stability and security, particularly in combating transnational crime and online scam operations.

WAICO is an initiative proposed by China and announced by the Chinese Premier at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2025, held in Shanghai from 26–28 July 2025. This year’s WAIC is of particular importance as it provides a platform to advance the implementation of WAICO.
